DELTA TORONTO HOTEL

The Delta Toronto is a 58 storey flagship hotel anchoring the west end of the Southcore Financial Centre (SFC) - a commercial office campus southwest of Toronto’s downtown financial center and Union Station.

The Streetscape features an elegant cascade of limestone steps and bold paving that extends from curb to building face creating a continuous signature ground surface treatment for the Hotel and SFC campus block. The wide surrounding sidewalks with clusters of street trees strengthen the Bremner Boulevard promenade and accommodate a high volume of pedestrian traffic with comfortable spaces for people to gather.

The Hotel Courtyard utilizes contrasting paving patterns to guide vehicular traffic while prioritizing pedestrian movements. An Ipe wood wind screen and sign is carefully detailed and reflects the warm-toned wood paneling of the hotel lobby.  The screen and corten steel paneled planter also subtly channel traffic.

The Level 3 Urban Forest is a naturalistic woodland forest planting creating a display of canopy trees visible from Union Station and passing trains. Both level 3 and 4 terraces are finished with SFC signature paving, granite benches and shallow Sedum plantings that respond to stringent loading restrictions of the structural roof slab below.
